The Seton Circle

Seton Circle is a dynamic group of community-minded individuals who share a common interest in helping Seton Medical Center Williamson (SMCW) provide the best possible person-centered health care to Central Texans. Through meetings and social activities Seton Circle members network and participate in collective philanthropy to positively impact the health of our growing community.

Seton Circle member gifts are pooled annually and members vote to fund special program, building, equipment and/or endowment needs at Seton Williamson. Projects funded in the past include:

2017 Grant Report

In 2017, the Seton Circle funded seven projects benefiting patients and their families at Seton Medical Center Williamson totaling $21,187. These are some of the projects made possible by gifts from Seton Circle members.

Hover Jack Air Patient Lifting Device ($4,608)
The Hover Jack addresses one of the biggest challenges care providers face: assisting patients after a fall. It can be very difficult to safely lift a patient off the floor and back into bed and the longer they are on the ground the greater the risk for further complications. The Hover Jack is a revolutionary device that allows patients to be easily and safely lifted from the floor and gently transported back to bed, requiring only a couple of staff and minimalizing discomfort for the patient.

Labyrinth Refresh, Renew, Reaffirm ($4,975)
Funds were used to refresh, renew and reaffirm our labyrinth. The grass was replaced with river rock which cleared the path. The labyrinth is now a place where patients, families and staff can find rest and retreat, be nourished, refreshed and reenergized. Plans are in the works for future improvements to the area. Stay tuned….

Vein Finder ($4,224)
The Vein Finder was purchased for the 4th Floor at SMCW. This piece of equipment helps staff with IV starts with patients with difficult veins or medical conditions that make veins small, hardened or difficult to find. The Vein Finder is already proving to be a great tool in assisting in more successful “first stick” experiences!

Barton Chair ($4,750)
This is widely-used chair allows success with Early Mobility of patients while preventing risk of associate injuries. It provides a safe seating solution for bariatric patients.

Reclining Wheelchair ($330)
This piece of equipment is a high back reclining wheelchair with removable arm rests, elevating leg rests and head support to help treat our must vulnerable patients who can’t sit upright safely for prolonged periods of time.

Cardiac Yoga ($1,800)
Cardia Yoga is offered weekly at SMCW. As patients graduate from stage 1 & 2 of cardiac rehab, they are eligible to attend Cardiac Yoga free of charge. The funds have allowed us to purchase additional equipment for the class, advertise and produce marketing materials and expanding the class.

Funds raised will be granted to support building and equipment needs at Seton Medical Center Williamson through a vote by the Seton Circle membership.
