SMCW Trauma Director, Dr. Neel Ware discussed Seton Medical Center Williamson's next steps in the trauma program.
Dr. Mark Shen, of the Pediatric Consultation and Referral Service, and Sister Teresa George, D.C., Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of Children’s Hospital of Austin and now Dell Children’s Medical Center of Central Texas, spoke about the Pediatric Unit at SMCW.
Our annual celebration and check presentation where we announced Seton Circle's grant funding of the Breast Cancer Initiative. With the generous support of our Seton Circle membership, we helped fund the purchase of a new stereotactic breast biopsy table which provides patients with a quick, safe, minimally-invasive, and more cost-effective tool for evaluating breast abnormalities that may be cancerous.
Dr. Glenn Edward Harper, neurosurgeon with the Seton Brain & Spine Institute, discussed SMCW's Neurosurgery Initiative and the high quality care available to Williamson county residents.
Dr. Nancy Marquez with Capital Surgeons Group and Southwest Bariatric Surgeons and Dr. Nabil Habash with the Seton Institute of Reconstructive Plastic Surgery spoke to the group about the Seton Medical Center Williamson breast cancer initiative.
Dr. Alex Valadka and Dr. Robert Buchanan with the Seton Brain & Spine Institute spoke about their expertise in neuroscience in conjunction with SMCW’s Trauma II initiative at Seton Medical Center Williamson. The Seton Brain and Spine Institute provides leading edge academic and clinical programs across the Seton network to support the neurological needs of the local and regional communities through exceptional treatment, research, and teaching.
Dr. Brent New, with Cardiothoracic and Vascular Surgeons, discussed the new daVinci Robotic Surgical System, a philanthropy-funded, state-of-the-art piece of equipment at Seton Medical Center Williamson. Dr. New is the first surgeon in Central Texas to incorporate the daVinci technology with heart surgeries.
